| Knights of the Blind
A Speech by Helen Keller at 1925 International Lions Convention challenged Lions to be the "Knights of the Blind". As a result, Lions focus has been to help blind and vision impaired people thought the world. In recent years, working with the deaf and hearing impaired has been added as a Lions challenge. Lions activities also include drug prevention and education programs, diabetes detection and research, citizenship, educational, health and social service programs, International youth camp and youth exchange programs, and a myriad of other local Community Service and Humanitarian programs undertaken by individual Lions clubs throughout the world. |
